According to official statistics, in our country, over 750 thousand people suffer from osteoarthritis, and nearly 200 thousand people have rheumatoid arthritis (one-third of whom have severe forms of disability).
Arthritis and osteoarthritis are becoming increasingly prevalent. In the period from 2012 to 2022, the rate of osteoarthritis increased by 48%. For patients aged 45 to 64, one in three individuals experiences osteoarthritisn, while for those over 65 years old, 60-70% are affected.
According to WHO figures, knee osteoarthritis ranks fourth among the main causes of work disability in women and eighth in men.
